David Joseph Adkins, born on January 10, 1963, in Birmingham, Alabama, was the beloved son of the late David Glenn and Sondra Bynum Adkins. A proud graduate of Shelton State, he earned a degree in engineering.
Mr. Adkins had a passion for working with his hands; whether it was repairing cars, engaging in carpentry, or enjoying moments spent fishing, he found joy in these activities. He was not only a talented craftsman but also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
David passed away on December 12, 2025, in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 62 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Rene' King of Henderson, TN; his two sons, Joseph Adkins and his wife Mandy of Carrollton, AL, and David Adkins and his wife Morgan, also of Carrollton, AL; his daughter, Charlie Jean Adkins of Carrollton, AL; his two stepdaughters, Ashley Isenberg of Henderson, TN, and Amanda Isenberg of Jackson, TN; and his cherished grandchildren, Haley Adkins, Hunter Adkins, Layton Isenberg, Austin Isenberg, Jayden Knipp, and Maggie Knipp.
In addition to his immediate family, David is survived by his brother, Ronnie Adkins and his wife Melissa of Moody, Alabama; his sisters, Paulette Messer and her husband Scott of Guntersville, Alabama, and Lisa Havard and her husband Matt of Fairhope, Alabama; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
David Joseph Adkins will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
