Mr. Avent passed away Friday night at Bolivar General Hospital.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of Wayne and Katie Wilburn
Avent, both surviving. He lived all of his life in Hardeman County
and was a member of the Early Grove Methodist Church near
Lamar, MS. Employed by Randy Broglan Construction in
Whiteville, Mr. Avent was an animal lover, especially dogs, with his
dog "Nick" being very important to him.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his wife, Tammy Avent, whom
he married January 24, 2009; two step-sons, Christopher Droke of
Silerton and Bradley Bogue of Lexington; a sister, Terri Avent of
Stanton; a brother, Phillip Avent of Ripley, MS; 5 nieces, Mallory
and Morgan Avent; Haley, Katie and Kari Hamburg; and 2 nephews,
Tyler and Will Avent.
