David Reaves Falwell

March 6, 1973 — May 17, 2023

Wake Forest, NC

David Reaves Falwell of Wake Forest, NC went home to his Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 17, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Susan Barbee Falwell and devoted son of Richard and Nancy Falwell.  David grew up with his parents and grandparents, Ernest and Shirley Burnette, in Lynchburg, VA.

Shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech, David married Susan in 1996.  They lived in North Carolina for most of their almost 27 years together, with a 5 year adventure in Chicago, Illinois.  He employed his engineering and leadership skills in computer programming and project management.

David loved motorcycle riding for its freedom and adventure.  But riding was more than joyriding for David.  Within the Richland Creek Riders ministry he found brotherhood, where men and women come alongside each other as they follow Jesus Christ.  The Riders’ patch has 5:8 which refers to Romans 5:8 “But God shows His love towards us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  David loved riding and sharing with people how God gave his life peace and meaning.

A celebration of David’s life and home-going to heaven will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11 AM at Richland Creek Community Church, 3229 Burlington Mills Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587.  Visitation will precede the service one hour prior.  A private scattering ceremony will be held later, probably at the Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia which is a special location for David and his family.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to Richland Creek Community Church.
