David Allen Higgs, 65, passed away on July 4, 2026, at Bolivar General Hospital. David was born on October 4, 1960, to the late Juanita Dye Higgs and the late Dr. Cyrus Higgs, Jr.

David was the beloved brother of Cheryl Higgs Alford and Henry Higgs and beloved uncle to Jason Alford and his wife Ayelet and their two children, Eva and Noah.

David was a long time resident of Bolivar and he was cared for by an extraordinary group of kind people who helped him maximize his abilities and live his life to the fullest. The family is so grateful to them for the love they showed him throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 10, 2026, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar, TN. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM before the service. Burial will follow the services Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Vardaman, MS.
