Mr. Dlugach of Pocahontas, departed this life Monday, January 1, 2018 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
A native of Memphis, he lived most of his life there before moving to Hardeman County 30 years ago. His parents were the late Will and Ada Dlugach. On August 8, 1954, he was married to Sue Herd. Mrs. Dlugach passed away April 9, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a son, Morris Dlugach.
Mr. Dlugach was a salesman and manager in automotive sales in Memphis for Sunrise Chevrolet and John Ellis Chevrolet. He also had been owner of ALD Auto Sales and 72 Auto Sales.
A US Air Force veteran, he served on active duty for 4 years and in the reserves for 20 years. A member of Oak Grove Independent Methodist Church, he was also a member of the American Legion, lifetime member of the NRA, Gideons International and was a speaker with Jews For Jesus.
In his leisure time, Mr. Dlugach enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses, tactical shooting, the National Field Trials in Grand Junction, TN, story telling and working out at the gym. The type of person who never met a stranger, he especially enjoyed making lifetime memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Pearson of Pocahontas; two sons, David Louis Dlugach of Memphis and Frank Dlugach of Pocahontas; brother, Samuel Dlugach of Memphis; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
