DAVID GENE PHILLIPS
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 1, 1940 the son of the late Ray Allison and Gladys Holt Phillips.
On January 29, 1964 he was united in marriage to Maxine Copeland, who survives.
Mr. Phillips was the co owner and operator of Maxine's House of Music in Savannah. He also had worked for the Hardin County School System. Mr. Phillips graduated from Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. He attended New Harmony Baptist Church in Savannah. Mr. Phillips was very active in church and the community and everything else he could help with.
He departed this life on April 1, 2011 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 70 years and 5 months.
In addition to his wife, Maxine of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by 3 daughters, Paivi Niemi Toubirin and her husband Jean-Christive of Paris, France, Tanja Wolf Wengerik and her husband Joheim of Munich, Germany and Onintza Aguirre Amundarain and her husband Inigo of San Sabastian, Spain.
5 grandchildren, Aimar, Eider, Lily, Nina and Cloe
2 sisters, Nettye Lou Beck and her husband Bruce of Savannah, Tennessee and Helen Joyce Brown and her husband Dr. James Brown of Ripley, Mississippi
