David Wesley Powell

David Wesley Powell

was born in Bloomington, Illinois on October 17, 1947 the son of the late Douglas Wesley Powell and Rose Virginia Peterson.

He was united in marriage to Linda Ruth Karstetter, who survives.

David served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service. In his spare time he loved to mow, play and sing with his guitar, and write music. David enjoyed going out with friends; he had a keen sense of how to make people laugh. David loved the Lord and good friends.

He departed this life on Sunday, September 5, 2021 with his "beautiful bride" by his side in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 19 days.

In addition to his wife, Linda of Savannah, Tennessee, David is survived by his children, Michelle Powell, Wendy Iwasyszyn and her husband Michael, David Powell, Rebecca Dubon and her husband Alex, Jennifer Rich and her husband Russell, and Truett Aitken; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Karen Powell.

David was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Larry Powell and one great grandchild, Layla Thomas.
