DAVE RAY
Jacks Creek: David Cecil Ray age 74 passed away June 22, 2020 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born December 30, 1945 in Cement, OK the son of the late George and Minnie Polk Ray. He was a general contractor in Jackson, TN for several years retiring in 2017. He married Sally Hicks Pate on May 28, 2005 and they made their home in Jacks Creek.
He raised cattle and chickens and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a very pleasant person to be around.
Mr. Ray is survived by his wife, Sally Hicks Pate Ray; two daughters, Cheryl Ray Denton (Donald) of Whitesboro, TX and Karen Ray Crabtree of Whitesboro, TX and two stepdaughters, Cathy Ainsworth (Jeremy) of Germantown and Christie Ainsworth (Stacey) of Memphis and a stepson, Bob Pate of St. Cloud, FL; seven grandchildren, Donja Denton, Derek Denton, Dakota Denton, Blake Crabtree (Jenna), David Crabtree, Savannah Crabtree and Kelcey Gorman (Nick) and two great grandchildren, Jaxon Gorman and Lincoln Gorman and a brother, Richard Ray (Judy) of NM and sisters, Betty Lacey of OR, Joyce Mundell of AZ, Linda Errington of TX, Patsy Mann of OR and Jacqueline Dunn of TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob Ray and Douglas Ray.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, June 27th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with family members speaking. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson at 2:00 PM Saturday.
The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday.
