DAVID SMITH
Finger, TN: Richard David Smith age 62 passed away April 4, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born October 25, 1953 in Chester County, the Old Friendship community, the son of Casual (R. D.) Smith and the late Johnnie Arlene Weaver Smith. He attended schools in Chester County. He worked as an electrician at manufacturing factories in Jackson, such as Tennelum and had also worked for some electrical companies. He had been disabled for the past five years. He was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith served as a deputy, while his father R.D. Smith was Chester County Sheriff.
Mr. Smith is survived by his father, R.D. Smith and his step-mother, Pauline Climer Smith; two daughters, Darla Rogers and (Steve) of Finger and Tracy Toth and (Les) of Enville; one brother, Jeffrey Smith of Martin; five grandchildren and a dear friend, Pat Weber Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Arlene Weaver Smith, two grandchildren, Nicole and Raven Griswell and a brother, Johnny Wayne Smith.
Funeral services will be Thursday April 7, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday.
