David Wilson

March 6, 1960 — April 23, 2024

Saulsbury, Tennessee

Harold David Wilson, age 64, of Saulsbury, TN peacefully passed away on April 23rd at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, MS. due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Auto Immune Disease.

He was born in Greenwood, MS on March 6, 1960.  Shortly after, moved to Mount Pleasant, MS on the Puryear Dairy Farm later becoming Wilson Dairy-his mother’s homestead. He graduated his senior year at Nathan Bedford Forrest Academy in Forrest City, AR and went on to graduate at Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute and received his Associate’s Degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Operator.

He had many jobs throughout his lifetime. Starting as a stocker at the Mad Butcher in Earle, AR, Dredge Boat Mechanic on the Mississippi River, Crittenden County AR Road Department, Shop Foreman for H. B. Zachary in TX, Shop Foreman at Case Equipment in AR for many years. He then began his other passion working as an independent carpenter and trim master remodeling homes and historical places.

In 2005 he settled in Saulsbury, TN continuing both passions as handy man of “everything” and maintenance for Candlewood Lakes POA.  In 2012 he became employed at Outdoor Equipment in Bolivar, TN as Shop Foreman until retirement in 2022.

David loved being outside, plowing up a garden, being on a tractor,  planting vegetable’s, eating good home-grown food, fishing in a boat or the bank it didn’t matter just as long as he could fish, guns and going hunting, Chevy trucks, fixing anything mechanically, wood working, making and creating beautiful furniture, cutting down trees precisely I might add, riding his 4-wheeler, watching Westerns and War Movies, reading, going on train rides, visiting CO, playing Scrabble on Sundays with Linda, working and hanging out with Stan in the shop, and playing with his dog Blue.  He was always there to help anyone who asked because he was a master of all things. If David couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed.  He loved his family and friends so much and I know we all will miss those easy days of sitting around talking and laughing at some of the things that he would come up with.  His handshake was his truth and he followed Gods commandments.

In the hearts of those who survive him are his sister’s Judith Ann Wilson-Eckersley of Monument, CO, Joy Wilson Smith (Kevin Smith) of Somerville, TN.  His son, David Wesley Wilson and granddaughter, Aria Skye Bulluck of West Memphis, AR. and former wife, Barbara Partain of Crawfordsville, AR.

His stepmother Carol Wilson of Oakland, TN.  His nieces and nephews, Jessica Matthes (Brian Matthes) (grandniece Elliott Lynn Matthes and grandnephew Kenneth Wesley Matthes) of Monument, CO, Dylan Eckersley of Monument, CO and Kyler Smith of Somerville, TN.  Aunts and Uncles are James Wilson (Frances) of Dickson, TN and Don Wilson (Nell) of Brandon, MS, Martha Wilson of Old Houlka, MS and Sarah Minahin of Tampa, FL.  And all his cousins in MS, TN, AL, FL, LA, GA and NC.
