Finger: Willie Daye Lowe Seratt, age 83, died Saturday afternoon July 30th at Jackson General Hospital.
Mrs. Seratt was born and raised in Chester County, the Montezuma Community, the daughter of the late Homer Daye and Esta Lee Felts Lowe. She attended school at Phillips School House. She married James Sylvester Seratt in December 1947 and they made their home in the Old Friendship Community most of their married life. Mrs. Seratt helped her parents farm and worked at Salant & Salant as a young lady. After her marriage she was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children; Joyce Clayton and husband Russell, Lisa Hames, Anthony Seratt and wife Gail all of Finger, and Dennis Seratt and wife Cheryl of Jackson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Debbie Lofton, Dana Shores, Stacy Seratt, Jared Seratt, Eric Seratt, Justin Hames and Jordan Hames; six great grandchildren and a brother, Jerry Lowe of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Seratt, a grandson Jamie Seratt and two sisters Tommie Hurst and Jean Whitman.
