Dean Glidewell

Dean Glidewell was born October 22, 1935 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Jim and Patie Smith Glidewell.



He was united in marriage to Treva Meek on January 8, 1954.



Mr. Glidewell was a graduate of Adamsville High School. He retired from Pickwick Electric in Selmer after 24 years of service as a right-of-way maintenance worker, and was a member of the Stantonville Methodist Church. He also served on the Pickwick Electric Board of Directors for approximately 12 years. Mr. Glidewell was active in his church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending his cattle. Above all, he loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He always had a smile on his face, and his appreciation for humor brightened the outlook of all with whom he came in contact.



Mr. Glidewell departed this life on August 7, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 9 Months, 16 Days. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Treva (Meek) Glidewell of Adamsville, TN; a daughter, Sheryl Chambers and husband Jeff of Adamsville, TN; two sons, Steve Glidewell and wife Elaine of Greenbrier, TN and Joey Glidewell of Adamsville, TN; seven grandchildren: Mahlon Hellman and husband Mark, Dexter Chambers and wife Carrie, Dustin Chambers, Eric Glidewell, Holli Turriglio and husband Mitch, Gillis Glidewell, and Garth Glidewell; five great-grandchildren: Marlee Hellman, Manning Hellman, Jackson Turriglio, Cameron Turriglio, and Chloe Glidewell; a sister, Betty Jones of Selmer, TN; a brother, James Glidewell of Crump, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
