Dee Prince

Dee Prince was born on July 22, 1923 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Dave Hiram and Dona Byrd Prince.

On February 3, 1950, he was united in marriage to Iris L. White, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2015.

Dee served as manager for the Hardin Farmer's Co-op, of which he was a charter member, until his retirement. He also was a charter member of Farm Bureau, a former member and director of Tennessee Farmer's Cooperative, and State President of the Young Farmers and Homemakers. In high school, he earned the American Farmer Degree, which is a national award of the Future Farmers of America. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Dee was also a member of the Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah, Tennessee, where he served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, a Lay Spokesperson, and ordained elder.

He and his wife enjoyed camping with their church friends and other friends as well, and they did so from their early years of marriage up until they were no longer able. Dee was an avid horseman, and he took great pride in his Tennessee Walking Horses and his farm. He also made a point to attend all of his grandchildren's school functions, whether they were sports or academic related.

He departed this life on January 14, 2016 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 23 days. He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, three daughters: Judy Prince Burns and husband Pat of Franklin, Tennessee; Deana Prince Donoho and husband Tony of Nashville, Tennessee; Becky Prince Berry of Savannah, Tennessee;

One Sister, Cal Prince Townes of Franklin, Tennessee;

Three grandchildren: Barrett Petty, Clint Berry, and Callan Donoho

Two great grandchildren: Mary Townes Petty and Andrew Barrett Petty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Irene Wood Prince, Inez Wood Thompson, Gladys Prince Houx, and Sybil Prince Newton; and two brothers, Anderson and JR Wood.

In lieu of flowers a contribution to the Hardin Farmers Co-op Dee Prince Agricultural Research and Education University of Tennessee Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
