Della Sue Hughes departed this life on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 20 days. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas on October 31, 1936, the daughter of the late Robert McKinley and Dorothy Susan Farrell Wright.
Della Sue worked in sewing factories and was self-employed for 10 years in the caviar business. She enjoyed yardwork, vegetable gardening, cooking, and listening to Gospel music. Family was very important to Della Sue, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a selfless person and enjoyed pulling pranks on everyone, especially at the nursing home.
Della Sue is survived by her daughters, Vickie Kelley and her husband Mike of Savannah, Tennessee, and Janet Hughes (Kelly Jordan) of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Colton Milford, Mallory Gilbert and her husband Cory, and Caleb Kelley; great grandchildren, Paisley Taylor and Arlo Gilbert; a host of nieces and nephews; and her sweet friend and roommate, Bernice Davidson.
In addition to her parents, Della Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Hughes in November 1986; sisters, Nola Pulley, JoAnn Burkeen, and Mary Surratt; and brothers, Charles Wright, James Wright, and Cecil Wright.
