Delois Godwin Morris

Delois Godwin Morris was born on June 22, 1933 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Grady and Marie Young Godwin.

On April 5, 1953, she was united in marriage to Leon Morris. Delois and Leon were married for 58 years until Leon preceded his wife in death on January 21, 2012.

Delois was a genuine caregiver to her children as well as her extended family and the general community. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading her Bible and gardening. She was a member of Spoken Word Ministries.

Delois Godwin Morris departed this life on April 11, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 20 days.

She is survived by her daughter, Jana Phillips and her husband Terry; sons, Mike Morris and his wife Bettye, Rick Morris and his wife Yvonne, and Phillip Morris and his wife Amanda; brothers, Cecil Godwin, Will Godwin, and Lonnie Godwin; sister, Ollie Gremmels; grandchildren, Amanda Johnson and her husband Stanley, Joey Morris and his wife Laura, Josh Morris and his wife Beth, Matt Phillips and his wife Kim, Brooke Kilburn and her husband Brad, Brett Phillips and his wife Dalana, Carianna Matlock and her husband Dillon, Melody Bormann and her husband Ike, and Maggie Morris; and great grandchildren, Madison Morris, Colton Morris, Michael Morris, Zach Johnson, Rylee Kilburn, Cooper Kilburn, Anniston Phillips, Steely Matlock, and Silas Matlock; and a host of great nieces and great nephews that she also cared for.
