A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Mr. Fred Dennis Allen, age 80 of Middleton, Tennessee, who passed from this life Friday morning, September 25, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Allen was born on Sunday, October 7, 1934 in Hardeman County to the late Fred Daniel and Mary Lucille Wells Allen. On July 15, 1958, he was united in marriage to Joycie Mae Mercer Allen, who preceded him in death March 1, 2015. He served in the United States Air Force, and he received his GED in his late 40s. In 1996, he retired from Sparks Farms. He also worked as a welder, timber cutter, and farmer. He lived most of his life in Hardeman County, but also lived in Illinois. He was a member of the New Bethany Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Denise Hanson and husband Robert of Rogers Springs, and James Daniel Allen and wife Tina of Van Wert, Ohio; his brothers, Travis Earl Allen and wife Gloria Jean of Middleton, and Richard S. Allen of Middleton; and sister-in-law, Emma Allen of Middleton.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Allen and Bobby Joe Allen.
Charitable contributions made in Mr. Allen's memory may be sent to the New Hope Church of Christ for the Indiana Children's Home.
