Dennis Howard "Acornhead" Givens, aged 73, of Waynesboro, TN, peacefully departed this life on October 24, 2025, at his beloved home. He was born on March 12, 1952, in Florence, AL, he was the cherished son of the late Howard Louis and Lillie Mae Chambers Givens. Throughout his life, Dennis exemplified the spirit of a true jack of all trades; his resilient work ethic took him from painting at Browns Ferry to navigating the open roads as an over-the-road truck driver. Dennis found community and solace as a member of the Railroad United Methodist Church in Iron City, TN. Beyond his professional pursuits, Dennis embraced the great outdoors with fervor, relishing in rabbit hunting and fishing—activities that brought him joy and connection to nature. He especially treasured spending time with his children, creating memories that will forever be etched in their hearts. Dennis leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and countless moments shared with family and friends. He will be deeply missed,yet fondly remembered for his vibrant spirit and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his son, Cody Givens of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Kendra Givens of Waynesboro, TN, Telina Roberson of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Brandi McCravy of Rogersville, AL; stepson, Tommy Quinter of Clifton, TN; stepdaughter, Jessica Bates of Lobelville, TN; ex-wife, Pam Givens; and grandchildren, Lillie Givens, Madison Givens, and Jaycee Kay Givens.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his children’s mother, Kimberly Givens.
