Mike Stricklin was born on March 19, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late O.M. and Lois Margerine Smith Stricklin. On May 18, 1973, he was united in marriage to Connie Martin, who survives.
Mike was employed by Packaging Corporation of America in Counce, Tennessee for 26 years prior to his retirement and lived in Hardin County for most of his life. He was a current member of Adamsville First Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee and was a previous member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. Mike spent 28 years in the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and served in numerous leadership positions, including being a chaplain. Mike was also an avid gunsmith, leatherworker, and woodworker who loved his farm animals and enjoyed spending days fishing with his grandchildren. He also loved to trade all kinds of items: cars, tractors, and antiques, just to name a few.
Mike Stricklin departed this life on June 16, 2020 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 28 days.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie Stricklin of Adamsville, Tennessee; son, Michael Stricklin and his wife Melanie of Franklin, Tennessee; daughter, Melissa Gambrell and her husband Wesley of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, James Stricklin, Melina Bailey and her husband William, Carey Balentine and his wife Morgan, and Trevor Balentine; step grandchildren Hannah Gambrell, Riley Robinson, and Amelia Robinson; great grandchildren, Nicholas Bailey, Faith Bailey, and Ensley-Beth Balentine; sister, Pam Blotevogel of Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Stricklin.
