Mr. Smith passed away Thursday morning in Camden, Tennessee.
A life-long resident of the Toone-Cloverport area of Hardeman County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late George Ambrose Smith and Maggie Lee Pirtle Smith. He married the former Addiese Ferguson on August 30, 1950. Mr. Smith retired from Western Mental Health Institute after 31 years of service in the Maintenance Department. He had been a member of the Parran's Chapel Baptist Church since the mid-1970's.
He leaves his wife, Addiese Ferguson Smith of Bolivar; his son Denny Ray Smith of Camden; two sisters, Georgia King of Bolivar and Louise Wilson of Union City; three grandchildren, Lauren Lupien of Jackson, Hannah and Ellyn Smith, both of Birmingham, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers.
