Dewey Ledford Melson

DEWEY LEDFORD MELSONwas born in Lutts, Tennessee on November 12, 1932 the son of the late Dewey Hopson and Lula Lee Shubert Melson.On December 21, 1957 he was united in marriage to Barbara Stricklin, who survives.Mr. Melson was a maintenance truck driver for the City of Savannah. He enjoyed farming and saw milling.Mr. Melson departed this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 13 days.Other than his wife Barbara of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by 3 sons, Dwayne Melson, Ricky Melson and Danny Melson, all of Savannah, Tennessee4 grandchildren, Cody Gene Melson, Charlie Melson, Stephanie Forrest and Katie Lynn Wilsonone great-grandchild, Mary Elizabeth Forrest4 sisters, Alma Lee Hopper of Savannah, Tennessee, Lula Mae Rae of Memphis, Tennessee, Linda Kious of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Evelyn Chalk of Morris Chapel, Tennessee2 brothers, Milton Melson and Jack Melson, both of Savannah, Tennesseeother than his parents, Mr. Melson was also preceded in death by one brother, Benton Melson
