Dolores Baker, a cherished soul and loving matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at her home in Middleton, Tennessee, surrounded by the love and memories she cultivated throughout her lifetime. Born on September 21, 1937, in Bolivar, Tennessee, Dolores spent her life nurturing those around her and creating a warm home filled with laughter, warmth, and the delicious aromas of her cooking.
For more than two decades, Dolores dedicated her career to Harman Automotive in Bolivar, where her hard work and commitment were evident. However, it was in her role as a homemaker that she truly flourished. Her love for quilting, reading, and caring for her family was a testament to her generous spirit. Dolores poured her heart into every stitch of fabric and every gathering around the dining table, where memories were shared, and love was served.
Known for her unwavering dedication as a proud member of Reaves Chapel Church, Dolores embraced her community and lived all her life in the county she adored. Her contributions and kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Everybody who entered her home felt her loving warmth, and her family often remarked on how she brought everyone together.
Dolores is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara Smith and Bob of Phenix City, AL, Kay Roser and Julian Vickers of Middleton and Pam Vickers and Randle of Middleton, as well as her son, Randy Stewart of Middleton. She leaves behind a legacy that includes her sister, Arbie Carter of Middleton, and an impressive lineage of family: 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply.
Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald H. Baker, her parents Carl and Alma McAlpin Cox, and her siblings, Evora Freeman and Glen Cox. Each of these loved ones complemented her life’s story in profound ways, and she will be missed dearly.
