Donald Porter Howard of Clifton, Tennessee was born March 3, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of the late W. S. and Mary Elizabeth "Tootsie" Crotts Howard. He departed this life on June 2, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Howard was a graduate of Frank Hughes School in Clifton, and Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee. He is a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He served as city manager of Clifton for several years and during his tenure helped with many city improvements including the City River Park. He worked as a counselor at CCA in Clifton until his retirement.
Don enjoyed the game of baseball. He played ball as a young man and later coached Little League and Babe Ruth teams.
He captured on film many beautiful scenes as well as images of family and friends in his hobby of photography.
Don enjoyed music and dancing as well as life in general. He had many friends and was loved by all. He is survived by his two brothers, Bill and wife Ruth Ann of Clifton, Tennessee, Gene and wife Janet of Bath Springs, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Janet Smith Foundation in Clifton, Tennessee, the Andrew Talley Scholarship Fund in Clifton, Tennessee, or the Butterfly Foundation in Waynesboro, Tennessee.
