Donald Edward Contreras, age 64, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Seattle, Washington. He was born on November 27, 1961, in Yuma, Arizona, the son of the late James Edward Contreras and Linda Lou Melbuer.

Donald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lisa, on May 28, 1994, sharing over three decades of devotion and companionship.

Throughout his life, Donald built a career as a logistics manager for freight companies, where his strong work ethic and leadership were well respected. Outside of work, he embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed fishing, spending time on the lake boating, and was an avid sports fan. Above all, Donald cherished time spent with his family and had a special love for his dogs and pets, who brought him great joy.

Donald’s life journey took him to many places, each shaping who he was. From his beginnings in Yuma, Arizona, he lived in Churchill, Canada; Satellite Beach, Florida; Seabeck, Washington; and eventually made his home in Seattle, Washington.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Contreras of Seattle, Washington; his brother, Jim Contreras and wife Karen of Seattle, Washington; his sister, Lisa Rodriguez and husband Mike of Yuma, Arizona; and his sister-in-law, Raquel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Contreras, and his grandmother, Inez Carley.

Donald will be remembered for his love of life, his dedication to his family, and the quiet joy he found in the simple moments—whether casting a line in the water, cheering on his favorite team, or spending time with those he loved most.
