Donald Chester Schell

Donald Chester Schell was born October 8, 1926 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of the late Chester and Ruth Cave Schell.He was united in marriage to Lois Newman Crippen on February 6, 1970. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High in Kalamazoo MI.Mr. Schell departed this life on February 6, 2021 at Vanderbuilt University in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 3 Months, 29 Days.

Mr. Schell proudly served his country for two from 1944 till 1945 in the United States Army.He was an emolyee of the WE UPJOHN Company for thirty-five years as a sheet metal mechanic. He and his wife Lois moved from Marcellus MI. to Lawrencburg,TN in 1998. He was currently a resident of Waynesboro,TN. Mr. Schell was an avid rabbit hunter and a lover of beagle dogs, bird hunting, plus enjoying other sports such as following the Detroit Tigers and, NFL Football as well as following the Chicago Bulls Basketball team.


He is survived by his wife since 1970 Lois (Newman) Crippen Schell of Waynesboro, TN; two sons, Jon Crippen of Portage, MI, Robert Crippen (Kristie) of New Carlisle, OH; two daughters, Jodi Weighmink of Waynesboro, TN, Marcia (David) Preston of Portage, MI; six grandchildren, Tanya Lee (Mike) Baisden of Spring Hill,OH, Lindsey (Jay) Calton of Collinwood,TN , Ashlie (Brandon) Baddley of Pawpaw,MI, Andrew Crippen of Portage,MI, Robert Jourdan of Collinwood TN , Zachary Bradley of Waynesboro,TN; four great-grandsons Cy Baisden and Ace Baisden of Springfield, OH, Bentley and Jon Beckett Baddley of Pawpaw MI, two great-granddaughter Adalynn Baddley of Pawpaw,MI and Freya Marie Ellen Crippen of Portage,MI; several nieces and nephews

At his request his body will be creamted with no memorial services at this time.
