Donald Brown Skelton

Donald B. Skelton of Waynesboro was born October 9, 1933 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Lee Grady and Ara Rasbury Skelton. Mr. Skelton departed this life on Tuesday,December 8, 2015 at his home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 1 Month, 29 Days. Mr. Skelton, a member of Calvary Baptist Church, was retired from E-Systems as an expeditor, was previously employed at Dollar General Store, and delivered meals at the Senior Citizens Center. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1954 to 1957. On August 23, 1963, he was married to Mary McClain Skelton who survives of Waynesboro, TN. Other than his wife Mary, he is He is survived by two sons, Charles Ray Skelton and wife Patricia of Sulphur, TX and Terry Wayne Skelton and wife Wendy of Ft Lauderdale, FL, two grandchildren, Michael Skelton and wife Cortney and Brandon Skelton, a great-grandchild, Zali Hope Skelton, a brother, Billy Skelton and wife Merle of Hohenwald, TN, and a sister, Norma Dabbs and husband Austin of Thompson Station, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Skelton was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Skelton, two brothers, Tommy and Bobby Skelton, and a sister, Geraldine Lee Grinder.

Services will be held on December 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Rev. Terry Skelton and Rev. Don MacFarlane officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Don Dabbs, Steele Skelton, Ed Cannon, Jack Sackrieter, Bobby Andrews, and Elbert York.
