Donald Martin Taylor

Donald Martin Taylor of Florence, AL was born June 22, 1936 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Paul Jones Taylor and Beula Martin Taylor. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Johnson on September 23, 1955 and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2007. He married Violet Scott Robertson on June 14, 2008.

Mr. Taylor was retired from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies and was a member of the Faith Church and Stateline Church and departed this life on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at ECM Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 79 Years, 10 Months, 27 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Taylor of Florence, AL; sons, Paul Taylor and wife, Gayla of Waynesboro, TN and Jason Taylor and wife, Kim of Ardmore, AL; stepson, Jeffry Robertson and wife, Tracy of Collinwood, TN; daughters, April Donareece Whiting of Huntington, TN and Ronda LeBlanc and husband,Christopher Gresov of Florence, AL; stepdaughter, Vicki Mitchell and husband, Jim of Cleveland, TN; 10 Grandchildren, Raine Smithey, Joshua Winter, Colette Hardy, Jerimy and Leah Dilbeck, Andrea and Stephen LeBlanc, Lindsay Creasy, Jesse and Krista Taylor; 4 step-grandchildren, Jimmy Mitchell, Sara Ballard and Mia and Will Robertson; 6 Great- Grandchildren, Draven and Evony Winter, Lucas and Reagan Dilbeck, Ayden Webb and Hudson Creasy.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Services will be Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Keith Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Johnathon Creasy, Jerome Staggs, Jimmy Mitchell, Jerimy Dilbeck, Joshua Winter, Billy Robertson and Billy Wade Lay.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
