Donald Rex Whitehead of Waynesboro, TN was born August 10, 1950 in Hohenwald, Tennessee, the son of the late Joe Cleveland and Ethel Mae Skelton Whitehead. He was united in marriage to Nancy Maxine Luna on November 14, 1970.
Mr. Whitehead was a factory worker, farmer, and school bus driver and departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 59 Years, 2 Months, 10 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Maxine Luna Whitehead; daughters, Kimmie Whitehead Brewer and husband, Jimmy, Tracy Whitehead Horton and husband, Brent, and Jessica Whitehead Staggs and husband, Paul all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Dalton Peters, Natalie Rogers, Dillon Horton, Jayla Whitehead, Gracie Staggs; brother, Delbert Wayne Whitehead of Waynesboro, TN; sisters, Jo Bell Whitehead Hollis of Lawrenceburg, TN, Clara Mae Whitehead Dixon of Waynesboro, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gabrielle Nicole Reed.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Larry Janes officiating. Burial will follow in the Skelton Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
