He was born in Memphis and grew up in Memphis, the son of the late Raymond Henry and Edna Mozelle Hart Hughes. He graduated from Frazier High School in 1971. He worked for a while at Cleo Wrap and later worked part time at Champion Auto Sales.He is survived by a brother, Derek Hughes of Memphis.He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Hughes January 2007.
