Donnie David Overton

Mr. Donnie David Overton, of Linden TN., formerly of Waynesboro, TN., departed this life on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Perry Community Hospital in Linden, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 2 Months, 10 Days. He was born April 1, 1949 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Don Robert and Emma Jeanette Brewer Overton.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Katherine "Kathy" Lay on December 23, 1971.

Donnie was a retired ER Nurse of 36 years at Perry Community Hospital . He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and Phillips Chapel Community Church. He served in the United States National Guard.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Katherine "Kathy" Lay Overton, daughter, April Overton Plunkett ,husband Joel, grandchildren, DJ and Jaxx Plunkett all of Linden, TN.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bryan Powell and Joel Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens,Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 13, 5:00-9:00 pm and on Wednesday, June 14, 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
