Donnie Edwin Tennyson

Donnie Edwin Tennyson was born April 6, 1935 in McNairy County, TN, the son of the late Estle Tennyson and Mary Lou Baker Tennyson. He departed this life on April 14, 2024 in Humboldt, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 8 Days.
 
He was united in marriage to Irmingrad Liebl on December 13, 1956. Mrs. Tennyson preceded him in death on May 29, 2020.
 
Donnie retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service to his country. He was a Mason and a Lutheran.
 
He is survived by a son, Donnie F. Tennyson and wife Annie of Nokesville Virginia; two daughters, Jene Getske and husband Ray of Bolivar, TN, Monika Reese of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Jeremy Tennyson of Arlington,TN, Randy Reese of Memphis TN, John Reese of Memphis TN Amanda Sullivan of Cordova, TN; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Rochelle Rash and husband Glen of Selmer, TN; a brother, Lloyd Dean Tennyson and wife Barbara of Rossville, TN; special niece, Lorie Tennyson and a host of other nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Tennyson was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Ellis; four brothers: Charlie Alton Tennyson, Wilburn Tennyson, Robert (Monty) Tennyson, Bobby Lynn. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5-7 pm, a funeral service on Saturday at 1 pm all held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Selmer, Tennessee. Shackelford Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Donnie Edwin Tennyson.
