October 18, 1960 – March 23, 2026
Donny Ray West, age 65, of Iron City, Tennessee, passed away after a heart attack on March 23, 2026 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on October 18, 1960 the late Ross and Mildred Willowdean "Dean" Scott West.
His life was beautifully marked by a loving marriage to Laura Jean Burnett, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years since their wedding on May 22, 1987.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Donny devoted 20 years to Murray Ohio, followed by 7 years with Labor’s Local Union #366, before pursuing his passion for independent logging. Known for his boundless energy and remarkable work ethic, Donny could outwork even the youngest men in the demanding logging woods.
Beyond his work, Donny’s heart belonged to his family. He cherished his wife deeply, expressing his love each day with three tender kisses—a tradition he lovingly passed down to his children and grandchildren. Donny found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, his precious grandchildren, and his beloved great grandchild.
