Doris Lavern Woods Benson

DORIS LAVERN WOODS BENSON
Was born in Florence, Alabama on August 22, 1946 the daughter of the late Doyle Lee and Daisy Marie Woods.
On May 15, 1965 she was united in marriage to Otha Ray Benson, who survives.
Mrs. Benson lived in Mishawka, Indiana from 1964 to 1984. She worked for 50 years as a seamstress for a clothing factory. Mrs. Benson enjoyed growing flowers, collecting angels and sewing.
She departed this life on June 19, 2017 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 28 days.
In addition to her husband, Otha of 52 years, she is survived by her children, Gwen Baker and her husband James (Booger) of Savannah, Tennessee and Galen Benson and his wife Lisa of Savannah, Tennessee.
four grandchildren, Jacob Benson, James Baker, Bobby Locke and Matthew Locke and one great grandchild, Riley Locke
one sister, Rose Kreiger of Florence, Alabama; four brothers, Elton Woods of Florence, Alabama, Louie Woods of Waterloo, Alabama, Ricky Woods of Florence, Alabama and Rexy Woods of Florence, Alabama.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Randy Woods and three sisters, Peggy Fowler, Rachael Woods and Connie Stricklin.
