Doris LaFaye Brown

Doris LaFaye Humphrey Brown of Waynesboro, TN was born March 23, 1930 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of the late Daniel D. and Sarah Snell Humphrey.

Ms Brown was a retired cook having worked at the Wayne County Hospital and Wayne County Nursing Home and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

She departed this life on Saturday, February 8, 2014at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 10 Months, 16 Days.

She is survived by sons, Ronald Lee Reynolds (Donna) of Lake Helen, FL, and Donald L. Long, Ricky A. Brown, and Raleigh Gene Brown all of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Dora Ann Brown Brewer Daniel (Kennith) of Cypress Inn, TN; 12 Grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Vance Humphrey and Willis Humphrey both of Tavares, FL; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms Brown was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a granddaughter, Ashley Long; a daughter-in-law, Donna Brown; a son-in-law, Charlie Brewer; a sister, Juanita Harvey; brothers, Roscoe and Reubin Humphrey; half-brother, Delmer Humphrey.

Services will be Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with John E. Banks officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Shannon Brewer, Eric Brown, Adrian Brown, Josh Gillis, Ethan Brewer, and John Denton.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 9:30 am until service time at the funeral home.
