Doris Jane Plunk, a beloved wife, mother, and Nanny, was born on May 8, 1956, in Metropolis, Illinois, to the late Jimmy James and Mary Lois Pipes Rippy.
Doris was united in marriage to Ronnie Keith Plunk, on April 1, 1977. Their nearly 49 years together were filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Doris dedicated herself to her work at Garan Manufacturing and Cross Country Apparel, but it was her role as a mother and grandmother that brought her the most joy. Known affectionately as Nanny, she poured her heart into her family. Her love was boundless, as she embraced every opportunity to support and guide her children and grandchildren, rarely saying no to them.
Doris loved listening to gospel music, which she shared with a beautiful voice of her own. When she was able, she found joy in cross-stitching, creating lovely pieces that showcased her creativity.
Doris departed this life on January 17, 2026 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 8 Months, 9 Days. She leaves behind her husband, Ronnie Keith Plunk of Savannah, TN; a daughter, Marissa Plunk-Everingham and husband Tom of Savannah, TN; a son, James Keith Plunk and husband David Clark of Savannah, TN. She was the proud Nanny of four grandsons: Wyatt Plunk, Tucker Everingham, and Kyle and Seth Clark.
Doris is also survived by her three sisters: Dottie DeShazier and her husband James, Linda Eliff, and Betty Tarkington, all of Savannah, TN; her aunt, Patsy Pennington of Savannah, TN; her mother-in-law, Mollie Plunk of Adamsville, TN; and extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Aubrey Lee Plunk; her grandson, Cory Lynn Plunk; two brothers, Gary and Billy Joe Rippy; father-in-law, James Charlie (Bill) Plunk; and brother-in-law, Stevie Plunk.
As we remember Doris Jane Plunk, let us celebrate the incredible impact she made on the lives she touched. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, inspiring us to cherish our moments together and to love unconditionally.
