Doris Ann Ray Wilson was born on April 10, 1940, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee to the late Odis Ray and Lessie Mae Causey Ray. She departed this life peacefully at the home of her daughter in Jackson, Tennessee on September 2, 2025. She attended school at Rose Creek in Bethel Springs and was a 1959 graduate of Selmer High School in Selmer, Tennessee. She was a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee where she served in many different areas throughout her life.
On August 26, 1966, she married Paul Davis Wilson, and they made their home on the family farm in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. Paul and Doris had two daughters. Doris became a full-time homemaker and helped Paul manage the farm. She helped in the planting and harvesting of the crops, feeding, and tending livestock and caring for the family home. She always had a large garden and worked tirelessly canning and preserving food for the family. She was also a very talented seamstress. She made beautiful quilts and clothes for her family. Often, when the girls were little, she would take a sketch pad and pencil and drive to town to sketch the latest style in the storefront, go buy some fabric and in a few hours have two beautiful dresses made for the girls.
