Doris Clark Rogerson, age 87 of Waynesboro, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on May 15, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, Doris lived a life marked by dedication to her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, and love.
Doris’s younger years encompassed roles in retail while she also devoted herself with great care as a homemaker in her later years. Her natural ability to nurture and organize was evident in both her work and her home, where she created a welcoming environment for all who entered.
Beyond her family commitments, she was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society, embracing the camaraderie and joy within that community. Additionally, she found delight in historical reenactments, immersing herself in the stories and traditions of the past. Her affection for her feline companions was well-known among friends and family, as she lovingly cared for her cats, who brought her much comfort and happiness. Doris' late husband James Rogerson often called her his "Short red head with a temper".
Doris’s life was deeply enriched by her family. She is survived by her daughters Sandi Thomas, Debby Klick, and Becky Naron, as well as her sons Rusty Klick and Kenny Klick. She took great pride in her role as grandmother to eleven grandchildren and her thirteen great-grandchildren, cherishing moments spent with them.
While Doris is mourned by those who survive her, she is preceded in death by her beloved spouse James Rogerson, who called her "the energizer bunny II". One sister, Norma Bredar. She also grieved the loss of her son Dennis Klick, granddaughter Jayd Stone and grandson Ryan Klick. Doris was born to the late Delmar Clark and Lavina Clara Noble.
Doris Clark Rogerson’s journey was one marked by dedication, joy, and compassion. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire her family and friends for years to come.
Family will host a memorial gathering at a later time.
