Doris Eleanor Somerby

Doris Eleanor Boomhower Somerby was born November 12, 1920 in Ashtabula, OH the daughter of the late Robert Lee Boomhower and Mary Elizabeth Austin. Mrs. Somerby departed this life on April 23, 2016 at her home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 5 Months, 11 Days.

Doris E. Somerby is survived by her daughter Constance J. Jordan, son Donald Cook, Step Children- Charles Somerby, Bonny Johns and Terry Marks , sister Jeannette Love & brother Milton “Bud” Boomhower. Grandchildren Craig Hunter, Cristina Hunter, Cary Hunter, Calena Bush,Bryan Cook, Timothy Cook, Andrew Cook, Denise Higley and Jason Jordan. 13 Great grandchildren, Trista Mitchell, Kara Puckett, Richard Hunter, Lauren Hunter, Celestia Esquivel, Cindi Hansen, Darin Hunter, Leann Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Megan Hunter, Greg Bush, Lita Bush, and Ronnie Bush. Great Great grandchildren Carter Williams, Garrett Williams, Isaac Mitchell, Ava Mitchell, Eliana Esquivel, Beya Esquivel, Hazel Serna and Talei Bush.

Preceded in death by husbands, Donald W. Cook and Charles I. Somerby, sons Douglas William Cook and Duane Bryan Cook, granddaughters Kim Hunter and Michelle Cook, sisters Irene Nist, Frances Carlson, Ruth Boomhower and brother Joseph Boomhower.

Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday May 14, 2016 at Cole Cemetery near Waynesboro. In the event of rain the service will be moved to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Springer Road in Lawrenceburg, TN.
