Dorothy Marie Austin, 69, of Somerville, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
The widow of Raymond Lee Austin, who passed away July 23, 2007, she was an assembly worker. She was born October 4, 1940, in Haywood county, to the late Jessie Freels and Susie Bell Pittman Freels. She lived all her life in Fayette and Haywood counties.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Jean Cannon of Somerville; four sisters, Edna Forsythe of Tibbs Community, Alice Elrod of Brownsville, Frances Elrod of Hillville, Barbara Kirkland of Hillville; and one brother, J.W. Freels of Somerville; two grandsons, Lee Roy Cannon, Jr., Mickey Glenn Cannon; and two great grandchildren, Andrew Cannon and Brandy Shipman.
In addition to her parents and husband, who she married October 24, 1959, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Freels; and a brother, Joe Freels.
