DOROTHY JENNETTE BERZETT
Henderson, TN: Dorothy Irene Furline Berzett age 94 passed away January 23, 2017 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 13, 1922 in Athens, AL, the daughter of the late Dee Whit Furline and Donnie Mae Wright Furline. She was educated in schools in Athens, AL. In 1941 she married Burk E. Jennette of Williamson County. They made their home in different parts of the country and in France, where Master Sergeant Jennette served in the Navy and Air Force. Mr. Jennette died in 1978. She later married William Berzett of Athens, AL. They made their home in Athens and moved to Henderson in 1994. Mr. Berzett died in 1995. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ, the F.H.U. Associates and took an active part in the associates. She was also active in the Cancer Relay for Life and served as Team Captain of F.H.U. Bookworms.
Mrs. Berzett is survived by a daughter, Sharon Jennette of Henderson; three stepchildren, William Berzett of Elverton, GA, Sue Bishop of Athens, AL, and Joan Blackwood of Huntsville, AL and one sister, Clara Taft of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eldridge Furline, Harold Furline and Price Furline a sister, Mark Shook and a step-daughter, Mary Hammond.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ben Flatt officiating. Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 31st at Burwood Cemetery, in Williamson County, TN with Allen Walker officiating.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM on Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Freed-Hardeman University Associates, Chester County Relay for Life, AGAPE, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
