Dorothy Ellen Woods Boyd

Dorothy Ellen Woods Boyd, Waynesboro was born June 18, 1928 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Tom Hassell and Myrtle Marie Casteel Woods.She was united in marriage to Douglas Eugene Boyd on April 2, 1945. Mr. Boyd preceded her in death on July 31, 2003. Mrs. Boyd worked as a homemaker and was employed with Clifton Manufacturing for 30 years. Mrs. Boyd, a longtime resident of Clifton, TN but has resided in Waynesboro TN the last three years. Mrs. Boyd departed this life on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro TN, at the age of 90 Years, 2 Months, 8 Days.

She is survived by two sons, Stanley Boyd and wife Francis of Linden, TN, Douglas M. Boyd and wife Mendy of Savannah, TN; three daughters, Judy Cole and husband Gerald , Lisa Jones, Rita Staggs and husband Chris all of Waynesboro, TN; a brother, Tom Woods of Hohenwald, TN; two sisters, Linda Connelly of Culleoka, TN, Becky Garrison of Hohenwald, TN; fifteen grandchildren, Delorie Juhasz, Shebra Frazier, Danley Skelton, Develon Skelton, Sabrina Young, Erika Powell, Dalanna Hensley, Jamie Lynn, Chris Russell, Kayla Russell, Timmy Frazier, Paula Hensley, William Frazier, Josh Boyd, and Mary Boyd, 30 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Frazier; a son, Harvel Eugene Boyd; one brother, Hassell Woods Jr.; three sisters, Lucille Thrasher, Virginia Pevahouse, Mary Ann Brown; and a grandson Kaleb Russell.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater's Chapel Cemetery at Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, directing. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-9:00 PM and Wednesday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
