Dorothy Marie Clanton

Dorothy Marie Clanton was born May 18, 1931 in Bethel Springs, TN in the Robinson Store Community the daughter of the late William Hugh and Cora Louetta Wyatt Owen.

Mrs. Clanton worked for Jaggar's Kiddy Shop, Iona's Beauty Shop and owned an antique store for over 30 years. She loved collecting antiques, beautiful glassware and restoring old furniture. She was known for her generous heart and her faithful correspondence of cards to friends and family. 

Mrs. Clanton departed this life on March 9, 2024 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 9 Months, 20 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Phillips of Glen, MS; a son, Steve Roten and wife Jennifer of Humboldt, TN; a sister, Edna Merle Pearson of Georgia; three grandchildren, William Simmie Phillips, Sandy Murray, Hadley Roten; a great-granddaughter, Jaycee Murray; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Clanton was preceded in death by  three sisters, Willie Hugh Tull, Mary Ruth Robinson, Joe Ellen Young; a brother, James Billy Owen.
