Dorothy V. Coleman

Dorothy V. Coleman departed this life on June 11, 2013 in Selmer, TN at the age of 88 Years, 1 Month, 13 Days. She was born April 29, 1925 in Pocahontas, TN the daughter of the late Charles Neil and Mary Weatherly Coleman.Dorothy was a graduate of Ramer High School. She and her sister Ruth moved to Memphis after graduating and lived there for approximately 50 years before moving to Selmer in 1994. She retired from General Electric Company in Memphis after 37 years employment. She attended Bethel Springs church of Christ for about 15 years until she stopped driving and began attending the Stantonville church of Christ. Miss Dorothy enjoyed bowling and was a wonderful cook, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family that she loved very much.She is survived by a sister, Ruth Coleman of Selmer, TN; a brother, Charles W. Coleman and wife Linda Kay of Selmer; nephews, Harold Bodiford, Terrell Coleman and wife Nancy; niece, Regina Bodiford; great nephew, Keith Bodiford; great niece, Laura Beth Coleman. A host of extended family and friends.In addition to her parents, Miss Coleman was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Mae Bodiford.
