Dorothy Cunningham

Dorothy Ann Gober Cunningham was born on October 25, 1936 in Winston County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Victor H. and Naoma M. Owens Gober.

On August 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to R D Cunningham, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2022.

Dorothy retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Jackson, Tennessee where she worked in the Tire Cord Department for 15 years. She was a member of Savannah First Baptist Church and Hardin County Senior Citizens. In her earlier years, Dorothy worked at Brown Shoe Company for 15 years. Over the years she loved working with children in Sunday School classes and Bible Schools. Dorothy enjoyed bird watching, going to the Senior Center, and playing bingo. Her talent was in painting watercolor pictures of birds.

Dorothy departed this life on April 21, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 24 days. 

She is survived by her daughter, Myra Ann Cunningham Jones of McKenzie, Tennessee; sons, Randy Dee Cunningham (Donna) and Mark Anthony Cunningham (Leighanne) both of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Desha Stiddom (Jeremiah), Anthony Jones, Haley Williams (Daniel), Kaley Cunningham, Devin Cunningham, Natalie Allen (Jeffrey), Hailey Jones, and Katelyn Jones; and great grandchilden, McKenzie Williams, Matthew Williams, Eli Stiddom, and Mylie Stiddom.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Myra Thomas; brother, Vernon (Victor) Gober; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Cunningham and Gregory Scott Plunk.
