Dorothy Maxine Durham

Dorothy Maxine Durham, age 90, of Adamsville, Tennessee, passed away on January 29, 2018. She was born on November 13, 1927 in Hardin County and was the daughter of Edmond F. Rogers and Pauline Phillips. On April 21, 1945, she was united in marriage to Albert M. Durham, who preceded her in death on May 10, 2010.

Mrs. Durham was a retired factory worker. She worked many years in the garment industry as a seamstress. She had retired from Brown Shoe Company in Savannah in 1990, after working there for 33 years. Her favorite pastime was quilting. Over the years, she had won many awards for her beautiful quilts. In addition to quilting, she enjoyed crocheting and tatting.

Before her long sickness, she attended Love and Truth Church of Adamsville and was one of its longest tenured members.

She is survived by two children, Leonard Durham and his wife Bonnie of Adamsville, Tennessee and Betty Shirey and her husband Mike of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandchildren, April Richardson and her husband Paul of Chesapeake, Virginia and Jason Manley and his wife Jaime of Columbus, Ohio; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Rogers of Lexington, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Imogene Wright, Anita Ramsey, and Marie Blurton, along with two brothers, Howard Rogers and Roy Rogers.
