Services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Waynesboro Church of God in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Larry Janes, Paul Odle Jr., and Tommy Burke officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery ,Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangments.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 9, 4:00-8:00 pm and on Monday, September 10, 9:00 am until service time @ Waynesboro Church of God, Waynesboro, TN.
Pallbearers: Casey Jones, Ricky Griggs; Tracy Odle; James Wilson; Mark Brewer and Bobby Brown.
Mrs. Dorothy was born January 21, 1954 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter late Calvin Lee and Beulah Mae Kilburn Griggs; In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Freddie Ray Erby; brother Ronald; sisters; Pearl; Irene; Marie and infant sister.
Mrs. Dorothy Jean Griggs Erby departed this life on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 58 Years, 7 Months, 17 Days. She was a homemaker, member of the Waynesboro Church of God and assistant in Mrs. Sadonna Smith's 2nd. grade class room at the Waynesboro Elementary School.
She is survived by daughter, Darlene (Erby) Odle and husband Paul, Jr.; granddaughters; Rachel; Rebecca and Ralyssa Odle all of Florence, Ala. brothers, Alvin Griggs of Iron City, TN, Harold Griggs ; Melvin Griggs and George Griggs all of Waynesboro, TN and Willie Griggs of Collinwood, TN,
several nieces and nephew.
