Dorothy Rudell Downey Harvey, 95, of Whiteville, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at NHC HealthCare at Somerville.
The widow of Johnnie Raymond Harvey, who passed away April 30, 1978, she was a production worker at HIS and Harman Automotive. She was born March 28, 1914 in Fayette County to the late Lewis Patrick Downey and Nora Ethel Wilson Downey, and lived most of her life in the Whiteville area. During World War II, she worked at a munitions plant in Cordova. Mrs. Harvey was a member of Whiteville First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Jsephine Harvey Brooks and Bill of Ripley, TN; two sons and their wives, J.B. Harvey and Joyce of Orlando, FL, James Harvey and Brenda of Martin; one sister, Lois Peoples of Memphis; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
