Dorothy Marie Lee
Henderson: Dorothy Marie Brewer Lee, age 92, died Saturday morning September 16, 2017 at Jackson General Hospital.
Mrs. Lee was born and reared in the Cabo Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Charlie Robert and Leva Catherine Rogers Brewer. She went to school at Cabo and married Wilber Leon Lee in 1956 and they made their home in the Sanford Hill Community of Henderson. She worked at Salant and Salant and then at Oakley Fashions in Jackson for twenty Years.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and she and Mr. Brewer were very involved at Sanford Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering and reading.
She is survived by two daughters; Janet Lee Laughlin of Jackson and Joyce Lee Fenimore and husband Randle of Henderson, a brother Neal Brewer of Henderson and five grandchildren; Tina Benson, Emily Lowder, Kathryn Reed, Erin Warren, and Daniel Laughlin, and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Lee in 2014, a daughter Carolyn Jean Benson, 2006 and a grandson Phillip Benson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Shane Connor officiating. Burial will follow at Cabo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning 1 pm Sunday.
