DOROTHY JOHNSON MITCHELL
Henderson, TN: Dorothy Ernestine Johnson Mitchell age 90 passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born and reared in Chester County, TN the daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Maudie Dorotha Tucker Johnson. She went to school in Chester County and graduated from Chester County High School in 1946. She married William Mitchell in 1947 and they made their home in Henderson where Mr. William was an self- employed contractor and Mrs. Dorothy was a homemaker. Mr. Mitchell passed away in 1999.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and a member of the FCE Club. She loved to cook and sew for her family. She also loved gardening and canning for her family as well.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by five daughters, Karen Bishop and Mike, Carolyn Garner and Johnny, Patty O’Neal and Joe David, Melinda Carroll and Garry, Melodie Mitchell all of Henderson, a son Danny Mitchell and Kim of Five Points. Also by 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Leon and Joe Johnson and a sister Mary Alice Hampton.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Ave. Chapel, with burial to follow at the Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Sunday at Crook Ave.
