Dorothy Frances Kelley Pitts

Dorothy Frances Kelley Pitts was born September 1, 1931 in Wayne County, TN the daughter of the late Arthur William and Vera Lay Kelley. Mrs. Pitts departed this life Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Adamsville Health Care in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 5 Months, 2 Days. She was married to Marion Loyd Pitts March 29, 1947. He preceded her in death July 4, 2005. Mrs. Pitts, a homemaker and clerk, was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by sons, Ronald Pitts and Terry Pitts both of Savannah, TN, Roger Pitts of Waynesboro, TN, and Keith Pitts of Adamsville, TN, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, brothers, Ray Kelley of Waynesboro, TN and Alfred Earl Kelley of Florence, AL, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by a grandchild and four sisters, Robbie Bates, Mabel DeVore, Ruth Fite Smith, and Willie Blackwell.

Services will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Alfred Kelley and Ronald Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2015 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM and Friday, February 5, 2015 from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Ricky Kelley, Brian Pitts, Terrill Pitts, Matthew Pitts, Zachary Pitts, and Tyler Pitts.
