DOROTHY MASSEY ROLAND
Henderson, TN: Dorothy Jeanette Massey Roland age 80 passed away Monday afternoon September 18, 2017 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 8, 1937 in the Woodville community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Virgil Franklin and Minnie Odell Autry Massey. She went to school at Phillips School House. She married Robert Fulton Roland of Woodville in 1962. They made their home in the Masseyville community. She worked at Chester County Manufacturing, Salant & Salant and then went to work at Chester County Nursing Home, retiring in 1995. She loved to watch local softball games, taking care of the grandchildren, and loved working in the yard in her flowers. She was a Baptist in belief.
Mrs. Roland is survived by a son, Gary Henson of Henderson and four daughters, Faye Thompson of Henderson, Regina King of Henderson, Debbie Jett and husband David of Finger and Bonita Wooley and husband David of Henderson and four grandchildren, David Wooley, Jr., Jennifer King, Anthony White and Chelsea Jett; great grandchildren, Machaila Wooley, Hannah Wooley, Camden Wooley, Cali Morgan, Mila Morgan, Canaan White, Karsyn White and Nova White.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Roland in 2008, a granddaughter, JoAnn Bain, a great granddaughter, Adrienne Johnson Bain and three brothers, Roy, Charles and Sammy Massey.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Glenn Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
